Obituary

Hofecker, Owen R. Sr., 82, Johnstown, died July 13, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Born June 26, 1934 to the late Glen and Alice (Roberts) Hofecker. Preceded in death by brother, Glen Hofecker Jr.; and grandson, Ryan Hofecker. Survived by wife, Harriet (Denk); children, Owen Jr., (Nancy); Kathy Phipps, (Mark); Robert; Clark, (Vicki); Mitch, (Kim); Richard, (Kathleen); sister, Alice Jean Stegeman, sister in law Iris Hofecker; and over 50 grandchildren. Owen was a member of the Johnstown Masonic Lodge #538 and a deacon. He was the founder of the mission in Jerome, “Garden of Hope.” At Owen’s request there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 17 at Way of Hope Christian Fellowship (Hollsopple Auction Barn), Pastor Robert Rummel, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Way of Hope or Garden of Hope, 652 Sugar Maple Ave. Hollsopple, PA 15935.
