Obituary
Pete J. Piemonte, 77, passed away Monday, May 20th, 2013 at Largo Medical Center, Largo, FL. Pete was born March 19, 1936 the son of the late Filippo and Nicolina (Costa) Piemonte in Johnstown, PA. He graduated from Johnstown High School in 1956. Pete served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for 8 years, and spent his working life as a steelworker and then small business owner of Bubbles & Chirps Pet House in Johnstown. He and his wife Carole recently retired to Seminole, FL.
He is survived by his wife Carole of 45 years; daughter Marie Piemonte of Johnstown, PA; son Joseph (Tami) Piemonte, and daughter Theresa Piemonte both of St. Petersburg, FL; four grandchildren, Ian Strawn of Phoenix, AZ; Amanda Reighard of St. Petersburg, FL; Wesley Strawn of Davidsville, PA; and Steven Reighard of Seminole, FL; two great grandchildren Bailey Ashbrook of St. Petersburg, FL; and Jackson Strawn of Phoenix, AZ; and his two siblings, Anthony Piemonte of Newark, OH and Mary (Piemonte) Sorsaia of Jupiter, FL. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Filippo and Nicolina; first wife Ethel (Zabrosky) Piemonte; and brother, Michael Piemonte.
Pete was a loving & devoted family man and will be sadly missed. He cherished being Pappy Pete to his grandchildren & great-grandchildren, loved working in the yard, was an avid Steelers fan, and was a dedicated volunteer and active parishioner of St Barnabas Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. 1521 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25th at 10 a.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 408 Luzon Avenue in Johnstown, PA with Reverend Robert L. Ruston officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to a charity of your choice to help fight heart disease or Alzheimer’s disease.
