Obituary

Rita Sunderland, 69, Hastings, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on June 4, 1956, to the late John and Frances (Stotsky) Milchak. Preceded in death by husband, Carl K. Sunderland; sisters, Helen and Frances (Cutts); and brother, Richard. Survived by children, Erica Gibbons (Jed) and Alan Sunderland (Kara); grandchildren, Brennan, Bryce, Gunner, and Ranger; siblings, Genny, Patty, Ron, Mary Lou, DJ, and Rose; and many nieces and nephews, especially Terry who was more like a sister and her “Ride or Die”. Rita worked as an Office Clerk at Giant Eagle in Northern Cambria for 35 years, greeting everyone with a smile. Rita was an excellent baker and enjoyed gardening, shopping and visiting the casinos. Above all else she loved her family. A funeral mass will be held at a later date.
