Obituary

Rosemary “Mitzi” Thiel, 83, Johnstown, passed away on August 11, 2025. Born on February 11, 1942, to the late John B. and Esther (Berkey) Murphy. Survived by her devoted husband, Charles W. Thiel, Sr.; children, Barb Haynal, Carol Mihalaki, and Charles Thiel, Jr. (Denise); grandchildren, Deanna Haynal (Kevin Barrett), Mindy Facci (Matt), Kimberly Mihalaki, and Chirstopher Mihalaki (Desarae); 11 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank all those at Windber Hospice who helped with Mitzi’s care. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm at Hindman Funeral Homes, 146 Chandler Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15906.
