Obituary

Peterson, Sharon Faye., 81, of Johnstown, passed away on June 24, 2024. Born August 2,1942, daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Felix) Penrod. Preceded in death by stepmother, Beverly (Sowerbrower) Penrod; brothers, Roger, Calvin, David, and Thomas N. Penrod; sister, Linda Snyder; grandson, Alfred Dee Peterson III; and son-in-law, Garry Hinton Sr. Survived by daughters, Lynette Peterson-Hinton, Sandra Peterson-Williamson (Tim), and JoAnn Peterson-Herdman; son, Alfred D. Peterson Jr. (Missy); brothers, Kenneth (Becky), Dwayne Kim (Kay), and W. James (Nat) Penrod; stepbrother, Charles (Sue) Sowerbrower; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Sharon was the 1st female heavy equipment operator and 1st female foreman employed with PennDot. She will be deeply missed by those in her life. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 30th from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd.
