Obituary

COLOSIMO – Virginia C., 95, Johnstown, died August 26, 2009 at Laurel Wood Care Center. Born October 21, 1913 in New York, NY; daughter of the late Anthony and Caroline (Bifano) Ferruzza, both of whom were born in Italy.

Preceded in death by husband, Thomas E. (Puma) Colosimo; son-in-laws, Russell Paul King and Duane Falstick; brothers, Mario, Michael, and Joseph Ferruzza. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survived by children, Frank Colosimo, Rita Mae King, and Angela Falstick Minnick, all of Johnstown. Also, grandchildren, Eric A. King, Tracey Esbenshade, Scott Falstick; great grandsons, Jared and Kyle Esbenshade, Justin and Nicholas Falstick, Anthony and Nicholas King.

Virginia studied Classical Piano in Manhattan, NY and with Professor Hirtz at Johnstown College of Music where she taught privately for many years. She had a classical piano program on WJAC Live Radio. Virginia also accompanied Gene Kelly at his dance studio.

She enjoyed traveling, swimming, and entertaining guests in her spacious home. Family and friends loved and admired her and will miss her greatly.

Family and friends received Saturday from 3-7 p.m. at The City View private banquet room atop the Johnstown Inclined Plane at 709 Edgehill Dr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windber Hospice or charity of your choice.
