Mary Ursula Gueguen Kvitkovich large

Mary Ursula Kvitkovich Becker, 88, of Northern Cambria died peacefully at home on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013. She was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Hastings.

Preceded in death by parents, Francis Gueguen and Regina (Weakland) Gueguen; brother, William Gueguen, sister, Augusta “Gussie” Keefe; and husbands, Joseph “Crow” Kvitkovich (1948-79) and Blair Becker (1989-00) and son, John Kvitkovich.

Survivors include sisters, Elizabeth Dillon, Cleveland, OH and Margaret Cunningham, Hastings; sons, James Kvitkovich (Jacqueline), Greensburg, Stephen Kvitkovich (Marjorie)St. Johns, AZ, and David Kvitkovich, Manassas, VA; daughters, Ann Nelson (Larry Smeija) Minneapolis, MN, and Gina Kvitkovich, Fairfax, VA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ursula was a 1943 graduate of Hastings High School and worked in Cleveland, Ohio, during the war years. She and husband Joseph Kvitkovich operated the Family Dell “Crow’s” store in Hastings from 1965-81. Ursula was a volunteer at St. Bernard Catholic Church and Community Home Nursing. She was a member of the Rosary Confraternity of St. Bernard, the Hastings VFW Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens of Northern Cambria and Hastings. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hastings. and from 9 to 10am Saturday at St Bernard Catholic Church.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings.

Interment in the church cemetery in the family plot.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hastings Public Library, Beaver St., Hastings.
