Holtz, Adrian S. “Ade”,76, Hastings, passed away Nov. 24, 2014, at Golden Living Center-HAIDA. Born June 21, 1938, in Susquehanna Township, son of the late Celestine and Evelyn (Hollen) Holtz. Preceded in death by brothers, John Celestine, Clem and Joe Holtz; and sisters, Margaret Kielbowick, Theresa McMullen, Cecilia Gelormino, Grace Stiller and Anna Mary Stoltz. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy (Drass) Holtz; children, Ronald Holtz, Aurora, Colo.; Sharon (Dave) Thieme, Mechanicsburg; and Michael (Pam) Holtz, Hastings; and grandchildren, Melissa, Clarissa and David Holtz; and Ben and Adam Thieme. Also survived by sisters, Regina Kaspar and Josephine (Pat) Gray, both of Texas; Tillie Link, Patton; and Maurita Bergman, Ohio; brother, Ed (Shirley) Holtz, Hastings; sister-in-law, Alberta Holtz, Patton; and many nieces and nephews. Ade proudly served his county in the U.S. Army. He retired from E.P. Bender Coal Co. and also worked as a carpenter for Strittmatter Brothers. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St., Hastings, Pa. 16646. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Bernard Church, Father Thaddeus Rettger, OSB, celebrant. Interment, St. Bernard Cemetery, with military honors by the local veterans organization.
