Szewczyk, Anthony P. “Tony”, 79, Minersville, died June 16, 2014. Born June 7, 1935 in Johnstown, son of Michael and Albina (Czerkowski) Szewczyk. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Joseph; John; Peter; Edward; Michael and Frank and wife, Evelyn (Woznick Sefchick, sisters, Theresa and husband, Tony Krisko and Mary and husband, John Sitar and infant sister, Anna. Survived by longtime companion, Anna Nanna; children, Beth and husband, John S. Lonesky; Monica and husband, Phillip Kagotmay; Paul and Shawn and grandchildren, Nicole and Jennifer Lonesky; Makayla Szewczyk and Annamaria Kagotmay. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Ada Szewczyk and Helen (Zonin) Szewczyk and many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Tony was a lifelong member of St Casimir Catholic Church, where he served with the Holy Name Society and served as an usher. He worked at the Bethlehem Steel Mill Plant for 35 years, where he was known as “Alphabets”. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to a funeral mass at 10am Thursday at Resurrection Parish Catholic Church. Fr Alan Thomas, officiating. Inurnment will be held at St Casimir Cemetery.
