Scott, Betty J., 91, Lower Yoder Township, went to be with her lord on April 4, 2023, at Windber Woods. Born December 16, 1931, at home, to the late Samuel and Armella Scott. Preceded in death by parents; brother, William Scott; sister and brother-in-law, Raymond and Armella (Scott) Smith; and nephew, Larry Smith. Survived by loving sisters, Pansy and Margaret; nieces, Linda and Kimberly Smith; nephew, Ronald Scott; special friends, Kathy Bednarik; Rita Kopco; Steve and Mike Filo; Mike and Rose Beblar; and cousins, Vivian Slachta; Bob and Nicki Merritts; and Susan Cowan.

Betty worked for 45 years in the meat department at Riverside Market. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis of Assisi Church, was a member of the St. Francis choir, Oremus Prayer Group, and Rosary Society for many years. Betty spent many long days baking Easter bread and nut and poppy seed rolls for Christmas and Easter at St. Francis of Assisi. She spent many years traveling with her sisters and friends, going on trips to Germany, Italy, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and 13 cruises, just to list some of the places she traveled to see and enjoy.

Betty lived her life taking care of her sisters and family and all the many friends who needed help and understanding. She will be deeply missed by us all. She is our angel now, watching over us from heaven.

Special thanks to Nicki Davis, Cecilia Neiderer, Bonnie, a nurse at Windber Woods, and the staff at Interim Hospice, (Warren Street), especially Stacy, Betty’s aid, for all the compassionate care they provided to Betty.

Family will receive friends Friday April 14th from 10:15 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Conventual Franciscan Friars, officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, St. Francis of Assisi Church (Barron Ave.), or Masses for Betty, which she loved. Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
