Burkhart, Blanche M., 82, Johnstown, died July 13, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center.
Born September 12, 1931 in Honesdale; she was a daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Gregory) Sweet. She was also preceded in death by her husband Wayne Burkhart; brother, Greg Sweet; and a son-in-law John Smith.
Survived by children, Dennis “Bucky” (Debra) Burkhart, Windber, Janice (Jim) Barnouski, Johnstown, Melvin (Maryann) Burkhart , Hollsopple, Alan “Birdi” (Deborah) Burkhart, Johnstown, Judith Lucas, Johnstown, Gary (Cindy) Burkhart, Johnstown, Curtis (Sharon) Burkhart, Johnstown, Joseph Burkhart (Cathy), Johnstown, Carol Smith, Johnstown; a brother, Joseph Sweet, South Dakota, a sister, Jane (Charlie) Lightfeather , 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren. She was employed as a cook at Faranda’s Restaurant.
At the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Albright United Methodist Church, 608 Cooper Ave, Johnstown 15906.
