Rex, Carol E., 81, Johnstown, died Nov. 19, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 15, 1936 to the late John and Amalia (Peppler) Shawley. Preceded in death by husband of 57 years, Gerald. Survived by children, Jerry R. Rex (Carol); Terry L. Rex (Tammy); Arthur R. Rex (Wendy); Carol A. Shazier (Anthony); Cindy L. Clevenger (Brett); Steven M. Rex (Charmalene); 17 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. Carol was an avid Chicago Bulls, Washington Redskins, and New York Yankees fan. In life Carol’s greatest love and devotion was her family. To her husband she was known as “hun”, to her children she was “mom”, and to her grand and great grandchildren she was “Nanny”. She was loved by many and she will be missed by all. We find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her husband Gerald to whom she was married to for 57 years and that we will all be together again someday. Friends will be received Wed.
