Ickes, Catherine K., 95, Elton, passed away October 24, 2019 at her home. Preceded in death by husband, George Robert. Survived by nephew, Franklin Dwight Knaval; niece, Anna Grace Bracken; and numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine graduated from Lock Haven University and received her master’s degree from Penn State University. She was a health and physical education teacher for Conemaugh Township from 1946 to 1987. Catherine served as a cheerleading advisor and volleyball coach for many years and was a member of Maple Grove Church of the Brethren in Salix. She loved anything that had to do with the outdoors, working outdoors, gardening, and farming. At Catherine’s request there will be no viewing or public service.
