Sabo, Catherine (Gorman), 73, Johnstown, passed away peacefully January 21, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born February 15, 1945. Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Agnes (Thiel) Gorman; sister, Geraldine Bailey; infant brother, Reinhart Gorman; in-laws, Joseph and Rose Sabo; brothers-in-law, Frank Bailey Sr.; Joseph Laposata Sr.; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Sabo-Fisher; Carol Sabo; Sue Ann Gorman; and Alberta Gorman. Catherine will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years, Gerald J. Sabo; daughters, Nancy married to William Young; Nadine married to Jeffrey Carroll; and Natalie married to Jim Michaels. Catherine was extremely proud of her grandchildren, Bryan, Meghan, and Jeremy Young; Samantha Michaels; and Katherine Carroll. Also survived by brothers, Harry (Grace), Joseph, Raymond, Robert (Sally), and Eugene Gorman; sister-in-law, Anita Laposata; and numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine was born at home and was a triplet at a time when multiple births were rare. She was raised on Benshoff Hill and graduated from Ferndale High in 1963. She worked as a seamstress at Bali Bra for several years and in environmental control at Memorial Medical Center for 30 years. Catherine was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Parish and a very active volunteer when her children attended West End Catholic School. Catherine was happiest when surrounded by her family. She enjoyed taking cruises, going to casinos, and finding bargains at garage sales. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time at her cottage in Everett, PA.
