Osborn, Donald E., 70, a truly kind and gentle soul passed away peacefully on

November 20, 2023. Born August 24, 1953, to the late Robert D. and Helen M

(Deshong) Osborn. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert P. Osborn.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Susan (Calik) Osborn; sons, Donald

(Heather McCleary) of Hooversville, and Matthew (Jin Qu) of Hollidaysburg.

Additionally, he leaves behind cherished memories as a brother to Sandra

(Vernon) Negus of Richford, NY, Joanne and David Osborn of Johnstown.

A 1971 Richland High School graduate, Don was a loving and dedicated father, a

loyal and devoted husband, and a dear friend to many. He treasured his sons and

embraced every moment with them. Don retired as a skilled riveter, all position

welder, and air brakeman from Bethlehem Steel/ FreightCar America, and later

worked for Boilermakers Local 154 Pittsburgh. He was a strong voice for the union

and an advocate for worker’s rights throughout his career. Fondly known as

“Ozzy” among good friends, Don had a witty sense of humor and a love for the

outdoors. He was an accomplished hunter and fisherman, and his lifetime hunting,

buddies were some of his most cherished friendships, where stories of their

adventures seemed to never end. He was a man of many skills and could fix just,

about anything. He enjoyed gardening, working around the yard, motorcycle

riding, vacations with family, and uncovering unique finds at local yard sales with

his wife.

As we bid farewell to Don, we remember a life defined by love, faith, and an

enduring commitment to family and friends. May his memory be a source of

comfort and inspiration to all who mourn his passing.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held on Wednesday,

November 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1000 Scalp

Avenue Johnstown, PA., officiated by the Very Reverend Daniel Lees.
