Karnes, Edward George, 77, Johnstown, passed away the morning of July 12, 2020 after suffering a major stroke 12 years ago and fighting a brave battle ever since. Born July 9, 1943 to the late Charles Arthur and Regina (Oswald) Karnes. Preceded in death by siblings, Charles, Betty, Rosemary, Robert. Survived by loving wife, Kathleen (Morey); stepsons, John and Garth; beloved sister, Kathleen Plummer; special beloved niece, Nancy Karnes; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Ed was a longtime member of the Elks, enjoyed bowling, and was an usher at St. John Gualbert Cathedral. Special thanks to Father Crookston for his dedication in going to Ed and Kathy’s home to provide them with communion, and all the loving care and attention provided by Conemaugh Hospice, niece Nancy, and the girls at the Atrium. Once the virus restrictions are lifted a Memorial Mass will be held. Donations may be made in Ed’s name to the Cambria County Humane Society.
