Burkhart, Eugene P., 82, Johnstown, passed away March 11, 2020 at his home. Born October 7, 1937 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by mother, Frances (Broad) Tkacik; stepfather, Joseph Tkacik; father, Leroy Burkhart; brothers, John, Leroy, and Charles Burkhart; and sisters, Helen Schrecengost; and Delores Teeter. Survived by wife of 57 years, Sandra (Greene) Burkhart; sons, Paul Burkhart (Gretchen); Larry Burkhart (Frederic Hocde); grandchildren, Veronica, Cole, and Isabelle Burkhart; sister, Jenny Blank, wife of Larnie; and numerous other family members. Eugene was a member of Resurrection Catholic Parish. He worked for Bethlehem Steel for 26 years and retired from the PA National Guard after 23 years. Eugene loved going to casinos, betting numbers, and having coffee at Our Sons. Eugene liked the Steelers and loved spending time with his family. Friends will be received Monday March 16 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Memorial Mass to follow at 11 a.m. Resurrection Catholic Parish.
