Burkhart, Evelyn Ann, age 85, formerly of Westmont, Shadyside in Pittsburgh, and New Paris, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 10, 2021 in Windber. Ann was born on July 2, 1935 in Alum Bank, PA, daughter of the late Veron (Adams) Beutman and William Charles Beutman.

She is preceded in death by her husband, R. Logan Burkhart Sr.; her sisters, Jane Fickes and Linda Knavel; and brothers, Roger and Charles Beutman. Survived by son, R. Logan Burkhart Jr.; daughter, Gretchen Burkhart (Motheral); granddaughter, Julie (Motheral) Jones; grandson-in-law, Andrew Jones; great grandson, Logan Parker Jones; sister, Rebecca Foor; and brothers, John, Thomas, James and Jeffrey Beutman.

Ann graduated from Windber High School in 1953 where she was head majorette. She was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow Girls.

Ann worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a labor inspector in the 1960s. She also tested miners for black lung disease and took pride in helping them obtain their benefits. Ann also had an antique shop in the 1990s in Shellsburg, PA.

Ann had an affinity and special kindness towards children and the elderly. She loved her family, traveling, beautiful clothing, jewelry, her dachshunds and Himalayan cats. She was an expert in antiques and appraising gemstones.

Ann was a kind, generous, and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a Humane Society of your choice.

Funeral arrangements will be private due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A Christian burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, PA.
