Holtz, Joan E.- 90, Hastings, passed away, January 15, 2021, at Miners Hospital Hastings. Born February 22, 1930, in Hastings, PA; a daughter of the late Modestus and Loretta (Bearer) Strittmatter. Preceded in death by husband, Francis K. Holtz; daughter, Patricia Woodley, sisters, Thelma Baker and Mae Lenyo. Survived by children, Ronald Holtz and his wife Kathy, Johnstown;  Peggy Holtz, Hastings; Robert Holtz, Hastings; grandchildren, Matthew Holtz, Boston, MA, Nathan Holtz and wife Alyssa, Johnstown, Lea Holtz, Johnstown; great granddaughter, Ruby Anne Holtz; son-in- law, Blair Woodley, Hastings. Joan was a clerk at the Hastings Post Office for 38 years. She was a faithful member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and table games, games on her iPad, jigsaw puzzles; going to the casino, gardening, counted cross stitch, watching Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Friends will be received from 9:30  to 11:30 am at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings where funeral mass will follow at 11:30am on Wednesday January 20, 2021, Father Thaddeus Rettger Officiating. Interment at St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Bernard Church, or SVDP St. Bernard Food Pantry, both at PO Box 497, Hastings, PA 16646.
