Obituary

Fitz, Mona E. (Sarlouis), 81, Johnstown, died Oct. 19, 2016 at home. Born Jan. 8, 1935 in Johnstown to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Storck) Sarlouis. Preceded in death by husband of 42 years, Richard J. Fitz; and brother, Clark Sarlouis. Survived by daughter, Deborah Berkich, widow of Nicholas Berkich; sons, Craig Fitz; Alan Fitz and wife Lorna; granddaughter, Josie Lynn Fitz; brothers, Gary Sarlouis and wife Eilene; Roger Sarlouis and wife Elaine; Jeff Sarlouis and wife Nancy; sister, Bonnie Tilley and husband Gary; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mona was a member of the Cover Hill Ladies Auxiliary and a past president of Cambria County Ladies Fireman Association. She was also a member of the First Lutheran Church in Johnstown. Mona loved her flowers, gardening, canning, and swimming with her granddaughter, Josie. At Mona’s request there will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for prayers to be sent or donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
