Schellhammer, Ruth L., 84, Johnstown, passed away July 3, 2017 at LaurelWood Care Center. Born March 19, 1933, Johnstown, daughter of the late Robert G. and Minnie M. (Wise) Irvin. Preceded in death by her loving husband, James Schellhammer; son, James M. Schellhammer; 7 sisters and 6 brothers. Survived by her granddaughters, Kristy Schellhammer; and Laura Bowser and husband, Jon; 2 great-granddaughters, Avery Robinson and Teaghan Riggie; daughter-in-law, Denise Schellhammer; numerous nieces and nephews; step-greatgrandson, Ezra Bowser. Ruth was a former member of the Third Brethren Church and current member of Morrellville Church of the Brethren. She volunteered for the Welcome Center for over 25 years and was also active in the Laubach Literacy, Morrellville Bible Society, Laurel Highland’s Scottish Society, and the Clan Irwin Association. Friends will be received July 7, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., where funeral services will be held July 8, 11 a.m., Pastor Dan Shaffer, officiating. Interment Benshoff Hill Cemetery.
