Obituary

Tourney, Rita E., 93, Portage, (formerly of Johnstown), went to be her heavenly Father March 25, 2018. Born August 30, 1924 in Greensburg, to the late Raymond and Helen (McGough) Newhouse. Rita was the oldest of five siblings, two of which she is survived by. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Tourney and daughter-in-law, Kelly (Duryea) Tourney. Survived by children, Larry and wife Theresa (Voytas); Gary; Patricia Bender and husband Donald; and Charlie; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Rita was a member of St. Benedict Church. Her primary interest was her family’s well-being. Rita was a devoted mother and wife. At Rita’s request there will be no viewing. A memorial mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday April 3 at St. Benedict Church. Following mass, friends are invited to participate in a memorial celebration at Anthony’s on Scalp Ave. In lieu of flowers, help one another in love and kindness and keep our mother’s memory in mind.
